HOMEMr. Manabe wins the IMDS Best Scientific Paper Award at ICPR 2026!

Mr. Manabe wins the IMDS Best Scientific Paper Award at ICPR 2026!

At ICPR 2026 (The 28th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, August 17–22, 2026) held in Lyon, France, Mr. Manabe, a second-year master's student, received the IMDS Best Scientific Paper Award (Track 3: Image, Speech, Signal and Video Processing). This award is given to the most outstanding paper in each of the six ICPR tracks.

This research proposed a framework that transcribes prosodic information from the speaker’s voice into sign language videos. Using GAN-based sign language reconstruction, it enables the connection between sign language movements and speech prosody.

ICPR is a major international conference in the field of pattern recognition organized by IAPR (International Association for Pattern Recognition). Congratulations, Mr. Manabe!
